Hasn't David Spade's contract with the Devil expired yet?
Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star
David Spade's Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star earned an estimated $2
million Friday. If this were any other weekend, we could declare the film
DOA and then move along. But since this is early September, this number
will be enough to make it the top film at the box office.
Joe Dirt deservedly had a 2.43 multiplier off a $3 million Friday back in
2001, so we should expect something similar from Dickie, but we can also
expect some number fudging for it to end up on top of Jeepers Creepers 2.
Call it $6 million, and good riddance.
The Order
After being satisfied by Freddy vs. Jason and Jeepers Creepers 2, horror
fans couldn't really be bothered by The Order, which only earned an
estimated $1.6 million on Friday. Give it the standard horror film
internal multiplier of 2.65 and The Order ends up with $4.2 million for
the weekend.
Notable Holdovers
Jeepers Creepers 2 predictibly falls 61% from last Friday, and the rest of
the weekend won't help matters much.
Check back tomorrow for the full weekend analysis and estimates.
