Lord of the Rings:
The Fellowship of the Ring (Second Trailer)
Voters were so impressed with the second trailer for Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring that they rewarded it with a first place vote in this category. Giving a broad overview of the stunning visuals as well as generating genuine interest in the story and characters, this trailer truly had all of the elements that make a movie trailer great. Two other films with impressive visuals finished in second and third - Pearl Harbor and Spider-Man. Pearl Harbor’s trailer combined outstanding special effects and a particularly good “money shot” with a spectacular score, and Spider-Man’s trailer did a fine job of teasing the CGI Spidey and the assortment of characters who will be appearing in the movie. A surprising fourth place finisher is the 40 Days and 40 Nights teaser, which is entirely clever and adorable. Our final top five trailer is the one for Black Hawk Down, another trailer which relied on the combination of visual elements with a terrific orchestral accompaniment.
