Pete Kilmer has been in the comics retail industry for ten years as a member of Downtown Comics in Indianapolis. Downtown Comics is one of the Midwest's largest comic retailers with over four locations in Indianapolis. All opinions are his own, and they cannot be bought with free swag. Beer and a walk on role on Chuck to steal Sarah from Chuck and I'm bought.
The big book of the week will be the Final Crisis: Legion of Three Worlds by Geoff Johns and George Perez. Should be a lot of fun!
Kim Hollis's Picks of the Week It's a surprisingly slow week for my particular favorites in the comic business, which I suppose makes sense when you consider that the past two weeks have been ridiculously busy. Even so, there's always a good book or three to be found.
Doctor Who Forgotten #1 Here I am recommending yet another IDW book. I love the BBC's recent Doctor Who iteration, and IDW has a variety of books fashioned around the series. Forgotten will be a new storyline, which means there's no better time to pick up this book - especially when you consider that we're not going to have much by way of new episodes until David Tennant gets theatrical work out of his system.
Air #1 It's not on Pete's group of books shipping for this week, but my list shows that Air #1 is confirmed for August 20th. From Vertigo, this book is described as being like Lost in an airplane, whatever that may mean. Regardless, a preview of the book looked promising. It seems to involve super smart stewardesses, some terrorists, a group of vigilantes who are fighting terrorists and a single person who has a secret that will change the future of air travel forever. It sounds bizarre and totally excellent, and I'm definitely giving Air a shot.
