We shall call her Destroy-It Debbie.

Wreck-It Ralph

Disney's Wreck-It Ralph earns the high score on Friday with $13.4 million. Wreck-It Ralph unofficially opens the holiday movie season, and this is a fine start for the first of the many heavy-hitters to open over the remainder of the year. The nostalgia factor for the video game themed animated release is high and audieces are having no problem handing over their quarters. The trend will continue over the weekend as gamers from the '80s and '90's who now have families bring out their kids to the theater. A weekend of $46.9 million is an awesome start for Wreck-It Ralph.

Flight

[bp:2065_]Denzel Washington[/bp]'s Flight starts well with $8.2 million, as Washington continues to be one of the most reliable draws in Hollywood. Surprisingly in just 1,900 theaters, Flight is reaching the older audiences who unfortunately scoff at stuff like Wreck-It Ralph. Philistines. Flight will also play well over the rest of the weekend, though not to the degree of an animated movie. Give it a very good weekend of $23.7 million.

The Man With the Iron Fists

The directorial debut of RZA, kung-fu beat 'em up The Man With the Iron Fists starts with $3.1 million. This is fine for a niche product, and with only a $20 million production budget, stands to make most if not all of that back during its theatrical run. It's in third place on Friday and while Argo will pass it when the weekend estimates are in, $8.3 million for the weekend is good enough.
