Golden Globes: Best Dressed

Catherine Zeta-Jones
Emerald green dresses made a few appearances on the Golden Globes red carpet this year, and Catherine Zeta-Jones was by far the best-dressed in emerald in her strapless Monique Lhuillier gown. (What was *up* with the long sleeves, Angie?)

Claire Danes
Emma Stone could have taken a fashion lesson from Claire Danes. Danes looked stunning on a pink halter Calvin Klein gown. The limited accessories and simple up-do kept most of the attention on the dress, as it should be.

Mandy Moore
My husband completely disagrees with my choice here, but I don't care - I think Moore's blue Monique Lhuillier mermaid gown, complete with tulle skirt, looked stunning on her, working well with her complexion and eye and hair colors. The mermaid gown seemed to be a popular look this year, but Moore really stood out.

Natalie Portman
I'd imagine there's a very fine line between finding a maternity dress that's fashionable and sexy, and one that looks like it was created by Omar the Tent Maker. Portman chose wisely. The light pink Viktor and Rolf dress hangs beautifully, the silk red rose detailing is a simple yet effective "something different", the updo is simple and classic, and the diamond earrings and the Tiffany diamond necklace were the perfect accessories.

Jennifer Westfeldt
Jennifer Westfeldt wins my "best dressed of the night" distinction, and I SWEAR it has nothing to do with the gorgeous (albeit slightly awkward looking in this picture) accessory she has on her arm. Seriously. The form-fitting white gown leaves very little to the imagination, yet is still classy and looks just stunning on her. The jeweled straps made the back of that dress just as gorgeous as the front. Well done.

Olivia Wilde
At first I thought this dressed looked like a disco ball fashion disaster, but the more I saw it, the more it grew on me. The sparkly Marchesa gown with the *ginormous* skirt looked stunning on her. The gold Christian Louboutin heels were great too, although they didn't make very many appearances due to that skirt. The only thing I would have changed: that hairstyle. A partial or full updo would have looked much better with that strapless fashion hit.

Sofia Vergara
Okay, I'll be honest - Sofia Vergara would make my "best dressed" lists if she was dressed in a paper bag or a potato sack. She is one of the most stunning women I've ever seen, and I don't think it's possible for her to have a bad fashion day. Hell, she could probably even make Helena Bonham Carter's getup into a fashion "do". Luckily, we'll never have to worry about that. Vergara looks smokin' hot in her red Vera Wang gown with the black bow in back. Just...wow.
