Jeremy Renner in Class Action
Jeremy Renner is in talks to star opposite Charlize Theron in Class Action, which is being directed by Niki Caro (Whale Rider). The Warner Bros. film is expected to go into production in 2005, once Theron has completed work on Aeon Flux.
Class Action also will star Frances McDormand. It is based on a nonfiction book by Clara Bingham and Laura Leedy Gansler about the first sexual harassment trial in the U.S. The screenplay was adapted by Michael Seitzman.
Renner would play Bobby Sharp, a man who works closely with Theron's character at a mine in their hometown. The two constantly disagree over whether a woman should be legitimately working in such a place, and eventually the arguments push her so far over the edge that she files a class-action lawsuit.
