A-Team makes a comeback
Bruce Feirstein, who previously wrote the screenplays for the James Bond films Goldeneye, The World Is Not Enough and Tomorrow Never Dies, has signed to handle scripting duties for the movie adaptation of the '80s television series The A-Team. 20th Century Fox is handling financing of the project.
The A-Team, which was created by Stephen J. Cannell, ran from 1983 to 1987 and centered around a team of Vietnam vets who were wanted by the military for a crime they did not commit. They were a sort of Robin Hood team that helped the innocent while evading the law. George Peppard and Mr. T starred.
The movie re-imagining will be updated from the Vietnam era and will also focus on more contemporary issues. The movie will be darker and more serious than the series was as well.
Producers are hoping that Mr. T will potentially have a cameo.
