Cast set for more Fast and Furious

Director Justin Lin has set much of the cast for his entry into the Fast and the Furious series. Titled The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, the movie will have Lucas Black (Friday Night Lights) as its topliner. Along with Black, other cast members will include Bow Wow (Roll Bounce), Brian Tee, Nikki Griffin and Nathalie Kelley. Additionally, Lin will work once again with some of his Better Luck Tomorrow stars - Sung Kang and Jason Tobin. The movie is already planned as one of Universal's major Summer 2006 titles, with a planned release date of June 16th. The movie will take place in the world of Tokyo "drift racing". The story will center on illegal drag racer Shaun Boswell (Black) who flees the U.S. for Japan to avoid jail time.

Lin ready for Fast and the Furious 3

Universal Pictures has hired Justin Lin (Better Off Tomorrow) to direct The Fast and the Furious 3. Rather than have any members from the first two films reprise their roles, the third movie will instead feature an all-new young cast. Based on a screenplay by Chris Morgan, the movie will be set in Tokyo. When a U.S. citizen is bounced from America due to his (illegal) passion for street racing, he goes to Tokyo, where he discovers "draft racing". In this type of sport, the drivers accelerate to extremely high speeds before spinning out, leading to highly dangerous and competitive races all over the city. Naturally, our young hero will run afoul of the leader of the draft racing group.
