Costner and Ryan team for Tortilla
Kevin Costner and Meg Ryan have signed on for the lead roles in The Tortilla Curtain, an adaptation of the T.C. Boyle novel about two very different families whose paths cross in a hit-and-run accident. Dayan Ballweg adapted the screenplay and a director is currently being sought.
The movie will center around two families, one wealthy and going through feelings of suburban angst, the other illegal immigrants from Mexico working to create a new life for themselves. Both clans become unexpectedly involved with each other when a hit-and-run accident occurs. The budget for the film is currently set at $20 million.
