Shannon joins Marie-Antoinette
Molly Shannon will play a Anne Victoire, a lady of the court and Marie-Antoinette's aunt, in the Sofia Coppola film Marie-Antoinette. Kirsten Dunst has the title role, and Jason Schwartzman and Rip Torn also have roles in the film. Coppola will direct from her own screenplay.

Torn joining Marie Antoinette
Rip Torn will join Kirsten Dunst and Jason Schwartzman in Sofia Coppola's Marie Antoinette. Torn will portray Louis XV, father of Louis XVI (Schwartzman). Dunst will topline the film as Marie. Coppola wrote the screenplay in addition to handling directing duties.

Coppola and Dunst eat cake
Sofia Coppola has signed on to direct Marie Antoinette for Columbia, with Kirsten Dunst attached to star in the title role. Coppola's cousin Jason Schwartzman is set to play Louis XVI.
The screenplay for the film was written by Coppola, and production will start in France this February. The writer/director had previously worked with Dunst in The Virgin Suicides before going on to win a Best Original Screenplay Oscar for Lost in Translation.
