Leo Gregory is Wild and Wycked
Up-and-coming British actor has landed the plum role of Rolling Stones guitarist Brian Jones in the film The Wild and Wycked World of Brian Jones. The movie will be Stephen Wooley's directorial debut after producing for 20 years.
Jones founded the Rolling Stones along with Mick Jagger and Keith Richards and was the creative leader of the group though he never wrote a song for the group. As Jagger and Richards dominated more and more, Jones fell into a life of debauchery, becoming addicted to drugs and eventually not even showing up for the band's sessions and gigs. They fired him in 1969, and he was found dead at the bottom of a swimming pool four weeks later. Though the official verdict was that his death was accidental, Frank Thoroughgood, a builder who was working on the perfomer's house, confessed to the crime on his deathbed.
Along with Gregory, Paddy Considine (In America) will play Thoroughgood, while David Morrissey will also have a role. Shakespearian actor Ben Whishaw will play Keith Richards. The role of Mick Jagger is not cast at this time.
Shooting for the film will begin on September 26th.
