Wahlberg is ready for some football
Walt Disney Pictures is in talks with Mark Wahlberg to star in a movie about the underdog football story of the Philadelphia Eagles fan Vince Papale. Papale was a 30-year-old bartender who had lost both his teaching job and his wife when suddenly new Eagles coach Dick Vermeil decided to shake his team up by offering an open tryout where fans could compete for a roster spot. Though Papale never even played high school football, he went ahead and tried out for the team, and turned out to be the only person in the contest invited to camp. The movie was once called Invincible, and will be directed by Ericson Core from a screenplay by Brad Gann and Mike Rich.
