Coen brothers win DGA Award
Joel Coen & Ethan Coen won the Directors Guild of America's Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Feature Film for their work on No Country for Old Men, at the DGA's 60th annual awards dinner on Saturday night. Joel Coen had one previous nomination for Fargo. The Coens beat out Paul Thomas Anderson for There Will Be Blood, Tony Gilroy for Michael Clayton, Sean Penn for Into the Wild, and Julian Schnabel for The Diving Bell and the Butterfly. The Coens are also nominated in the directing category of the Oscars against a similar field.

Harrelson and Root go Country
Woody Harrelson and Stephen Root have joined the cast of the Coen Brothers' adaptation of the Cormac McCarthy novel No Country for Old Men. They'll star alongside Tommy Lee Jones, Javier Bardem and Josh Brolin in the dark thriller set in West Texas in 1980. The story involves a tired sheriff on the trail of a dangerous and twisted killer. Meanwhile, a young resident of the area has discovered some money that doesn't belong to him and sets out on a trip that will allow him to keep it.

No Country for Brolin
James Brolin will join the cast of Joel and Ethan Coen's No Country for Old Men. Brolin will play a Vietnam veteran in the film, which will also star Tommy Lee Jones and Javier Bardem.

Coen Brothers go to the Country
Joel and Ethan Coen are set to do a film adaptation of Cormac McCarthy's No Country for Old Men. The pair wrote the script together, and Tommy Lee Jones and Javier Bardem are in talks to star. The story is set in West Texas in 1980 and follows a Vietnam Vet who accidentally comes across the remnants of a drug deal gone bad. He is then hunted by a pair of very vicious assassins who want their money back.

Rudin has No Country for Old Men
Scott Rudin is set to produce a movie adaptation of the Cormac McCarthy novel No Country for Old Men for Paramount Pictures. The author's award-winning All the Pretty Horses was adapted to movie form in 2000. The new novel, which will be released in the August 2005, is a noir thriller set in West Texas. It tells the story of a man with a suitcase full of money who is on the run from a variety of people.
