More cast sign up for Adventure
A number of new cast members have signed to star in Wolfgang Petersen's remake of The Poseidon Adventure for Warner Bros. Mia Maestro, Freddy Rodriguez, Kevin Dillon, Jacinda Barrett and Jimmy Bennett will all board the disaster adventure about a capsized cruise ship. Shooting will start tomorrow.

Lucas has an Adventure
A day after the announcement that Kurt Russell, Richard Dreyfuss and Emmy Rossum joined the cast, Josh Lucas has also been announced to star in Wolfgang Petersen's The Poseidon Adventure. Lucas will play a ship-hopping gambler in the story of survivors of a cruise ship that is capsized by a tidal wave. The group is trapped upside down and must find their way to the surface by traversing through the hull. Along with the other cast members mentioned, Mike Vogel will also star.
Mark Protosevich and Akiva Goldsman wrote the screenplay for the remake.

Stars hired for Poseidon Adventure
Three cast members have been hired for Wolfgang Petersen's big-budget remake of the epic disaster film The Poseidon Adventure. Kurt Russell will play a former fireman and politician who is traveling with his daughter, who will be portrayed by Emmy Rossum. Also onboard is Richard Dreyfuss, playing a gay man who has recently been dumped. Mark Protosevich and Akiva Goldsman handled the screenplay, which is based on the original novel by Paul Gallico and the script from the first film.
In an interesting competitive note, NBC will be airing a remake of the film that stars Steve Guttenberg, Rutger Hauer, and Adam Baldwin.
