Bardem and Portman see Ghosts
Javier Bardem and Natalie Portman are in negotiations to star in Goya's Ghosts, to be directed by Milos Forman from a screenplay he co-wrote with Jean-Claude Carriere. The long-in-the-works drama about Spanish painter Francisco Goya is set in 1792 Spain, with Goya working as the most famous painter in the country. A scandal comes up when his muse is accused of heresy by a monk who just happens to be one of the primary forces behind the Inquisition. Bardem would play the monk, while Portman will portray the muse and her teenage daughter - a child that might be the result of an illict affair with said monk.
