Underdog moves to big screen
Walt Disney will turn the classic cartoon Underdog into a live-action feature film, thereby destroying one of the last remaining happy memories of many childhoods. For this film, everything will be done in live action, including a real dog that talks and flies and so forth. The show ran from 1964 to 1973 and featured a mild-mannered hound known as Shoeshine Boy who would turn into a superhero called Underdog at the first sign of trouble from such villains as Simon Bar Sinister and Riff Raff. Frequently, he was having to come to the aid of Sweet Polly Purebred, a news reporter.
