Bale and Zahn work with Herzog
Christian Bale and Steve Zahn will star in Rescue Dawn for director Werner Herzog. The movie is based on the German helmer's acclaimed 1977 documentary Little Dieter Needs to Fly. The indie flick will center on the real-life tale of U.S. fighter pilot Dieter Dengler (Bale), a German-American who was shot down and held as a P.O.W. in Laos during the Vietnam War. The pilot was able to organize a small group of prisoners to successfully complete a death-defying escape. Zahn will play one of the prisoners.
