Miramax gets to Heart of the matter
Miramax has acquired the domestic rights to the documentary The Heart of the Game at the Toronto International Film Festival, marking the first purchase by new president Daniel Battsek. They are believed to have paid around $1 million for the film, which was directed by Ward Serrill. The movie is set in the world of girls' basketball and centers on the rowdy Seattle Roosevelt Roughriders high school team. In particular, it focuses on one girl's fight to regain eligibility to play the game.
