Fox Searchlight gets Phat
Fox Searchlight is set to distribute Phat Girls. The film was produced by Bobby Newmyer, who put up his own cash to finance the film. The film was written and directed by Negest Likke and stars Mo'Nique. The story centers on a smart-mouthed woman who hopes to be a fashion designer and another woman who are obsessed with their weight. Everything is thrown for a loop, though, when they unexpectedly meet the men of their dreams.
