Ambrose Wild about Jonze
Six Feet Under alumnus Lauren Ambrose will play giant creature KW in Spike Jonze's fantasy film Where the Wild Things Are, a feature adaptation of Muarice Sendak's children's book. Ambrose will replace Michelle Williams, who was originally cast in the role but was eventually dropped because her voice didn't quite match what filmmakers expected. The film will be released in fall 2008.

Warner Bros. goes Wild
Warner Bros. has acquired the rights to adapt the Maurice Sendak book Where the Wild Things Are, which came out of turnaround from Universal. Spike Jonze will direct the film from a screenplay he co-wrote with David Eggers. Though exact details of the story itself are being kept under wraps, it is assumed that Jonze will be working with a large, CGI-centric budget. The good news is that while Universal's version of the script didn't jibe with Sendak, the new project as it stands has his full approval.
