Grey's star joins silver screen adaptation
Eric Dane (ABC's Grey's Anatomy) signed on to co-star with Owen Wilson, Jennifer Aniston and Alan Arkin in Marley & Me, a Fox 2000 adaptation of the bestselling memoir by author John Grogan. The film, to be directed by David Frankel (The Devil Wears Prada), is about a reporter (Wilson) who moves to Miami with his wife (Aniston) for a new job. Dane will be Wilson's best friend, who suggests the couple adopt a puppy. The film is expected to begin production this month in Miami.

Fox 2000 gets Marley
Fox 2000 has acquired the rights to Marley & Me, the memoir of Philadelphia Inquirer columnist John Grogan's life with his yellow Labrador retriever. The book has already sold 500,000 copies and has been on the New York Times bestseller list for 14 weeks. The story is a collection of anecdotes about Marley running wild in Grogan's home and looks at the dog's 13-year life (he died two years ago).
