Adams gains a friend in Rajskub
Mary Lynn Rajskub (Fox's 24) joined the cast of Julie and Julia, a film based on the true story of Julie Powell (Amy Adams), who spent an entire year cooking every recipe found within Julia Child's classic cookbook, Mastering the Art of French Cuisine. In it, Rajskub will play Helen, Powell's best friend. Also cast in the film is Meryl Streep as Child and Stanley Tucci as her husband, Paul. Both recently co-starred in The Devil Wears Prada.

Messina stirs up Ephron's pot
Chris Messina (HBO's Six Feet Under) is in talks to star with Amy Adams (Enchanted) and Meryl Streep (The Devil Wears Prada) in the Columbia comedy Julie & Julia, from writer-director Nora Ephron (Bewitched). If signed, Messina will play the husband of Adams' title character, a government worker who aims to add some zing to her marriage by making every recipe in a Julia Child's cookbook. Streep will play the famed cook.

Streep puts on her chef's hat
Meryl Streep has signed on to play legendary chef Julia Child in Julie and Julia, a film adaptation written and to be directed by Nora Ephron (Bewitched). Streep previously worked with Ephron in Silkwood in 1983 and Heartburn in 1986.

Ephron Set to Cook
Nora Ephron will write and direct an adaptation of the book "Julie and Julia: 365 Days, 524 Recipes, 1 Tiny Apartment Kitchen." Originally conceived from a series of blog posts, author Julie Powell spent a year trying to cook all 524 recipes in legendary chef Julia Child's "Mastering the Art of French Cooking." The movie will be produced by Eric Steel and Amy Robinson for Columbia, who say that Julia will wind up in the story. Eprhon's resume includes Sleepless in Seattle, Michael, and last year's Bewitched.
