Blockbuster gets bumped to November
Sony delayed the release of Roland Emmerich's actioner 2012 from July 10th to November 13th to take advantage of the lucrative Thanksgiving season. Said Sony distribution president Rory Bruer to The Hollywood Reporter: "We've had such success with the James Bond films in November that we wanted a big tentpole film in that slot this year. We've got so many films in the summer that this is the perfect answer to that."

Singaporean actor Chin Han (The Dark Knight) signed on for a piece of the apocalyptic action in Roland Emmerich's 2012. Details of his character are unknown.

John Cusack is in talks to star in Roland Emmerich's apocalyptic 2012, a film that blends the idea of the Mayan calendar, which predicts the end of the world in 2012, with natural disasters, like volcanic eruptions and typhoons. Emmerich wrote the script with Harold Kloser.

Sony Pictures Entertainment picked up Roland Emmerich's 2012, a film the studio hopes to have turned around by its expected July 10, 2009 release date. The story follows a family that goes on vacation in December of 2012. This date just happens to coincide with the end of the Mayan calendar. Many prophesies have forecasted that the world will end when that calendar does.

Dey to develop 2012
Director Tom Dey is re-teaming with writers Tom Astle and Matt Ember on the action-adventure 2012 for Paramount and Nickelodeon Movies. Dey will develop and may direct the film, while Astle and Ember (Failure to Launch) will write the screenplay. The story follows a family that goes on vacation in December of 2012.
