Hamm goes on alien hunt
Jon Hamm (AMC's Mad Men) signed on opposite Keanu Reeves (Constantine) and Jennifer Connelly (Blood Diamond) in Fox's sci-fi remake The Day the Earth Stood Still. In the update of the 1951 classic, Hamm will play Dr. Granier, a NASA official who recruits Helen (Connelly) to investigate an alien's arrival on Earth. Reeves will play that very alien who carries a simple message: Live in peace or be destroyed. David Scarpa (The Last Castle) wrote the screenplay and Scott Derrickson (The Exorcism of Emily Rose) will direct.

Reeves to be an alien
Jennifer Connelly and Keanu Reeves signed up for roles in The Day the Earth Stood Still, a remake of the 1951 original about aliens that come to earth to tell humans to live in peace or be destroyed. Connelly will play the scientist that makes first contact with an alien named Klaatu (Reeves). The film, written by David Scarpa and to be directed by Scott Derrickson, is expected to begin filming in December in Vancouver.
