Chow rolls a Dragonball

Chow Yun-Fat (Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End) will play Master Roshi in 20th Century Fox's Dragonball, a live-action adaptation of the popular children's game. James Wong (Final Destination 3) is currently directing the flick in Mexico City and Los Angeles.

Rossum throws a Dragonball

Emmy Rossum (The Phantom of the Opera) joined the cast of Dragonball, 20th Century Fox's live-action take of the popular Japanese comic. Directed by James Wong (Final Destination 3), the story follows an alien named Goku, who is sent to Earth to destroy humans, but decides to protect the planet from a forthcoming alien attack. Other cast members include Justin Chatwin, James Marsters and Jamie Chung. It will be released in theaters August 2008.

Chung throws a Dragonball

Justin Chatwin and James Marsters have new company in Fox's live-action Dragonball, to be directed by James Wong. Jamie Chung (I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry) will play Chi Chi, love interest to Goku, an alien sent to Earth to destroy the population of humans.

Dragonball picks up speed

Twentieth Century Fox got the ball rolling on its live-action take on popular manga Drangonball. Justin Chatwin and James Marsters have been cast in the pic as the hero and villain, respectively. Directed by James Wong, the story follows an alien named Goku, who is sent to Earth to destroy humans, but decides to protect the planet from a forthcoming alien attack. Dragonball will reach theaters on Aug. 15, 2008.
