Christopher Eccleston shares cockpit with Hilary Swank
Christopher Eccleston will play Amelia Earhart's (Hilary Swank) navigator, Fred Noonan, in Fox Searchlight's Amelia, a biopic to be directed by Mira Nair. Previously signed cast members include Richard Gere, Ewan MacGregor, Virginia Madsen and Mia Wasikowska.

Mia Wasikowska (HBO's In Treatment) joined the cast of Amelia, the Amelia Earhart biopic starring Hilary Swank, Richard Gere and Virginia Madsen. The pic comes from Fox Searchlight and is being directed by Mira Nair.

Sideways star joins Earhart biopic
Virginia Madsen (Sideways) will star alongside Hilary Swank and Richard Gere in Amelia, a biopic about famed aviator Amelia Earhart. The film will chronicle the relationship between Earhart (Swank) and publisher George Putnam (Gere), who eventually marry. Madsen will be Putnam's first wife, Dorothy Binney. Penned by Ron Bass, the film will be directed by Mira Nair.
