Richard Jenkins, Bradley Whitford go camping
Richard Jenkins and Bradley Whitford are in final negotiations to star in Drew Goddard's The Cabin in the Woods. Joked Goddard to The Hollywood Reporter: "It's really just your basic typecasting: When you need two actors to run through the woods in low-cut nighties, you immediately think of Richard Jenkins and Bradley Whitford." Though plot details are still being kept under wraps, the project is said to put a new twist on a classic horror movie scenario.

MGM likes Cloverfield scribe's next project
MGM greenlit a thriller from sci-fi masters Joss Whedon and Drew Goddard titled The Cabin in the Woods. The pair previously worked together on TV's Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Goddard, who also currently produces ABC's Lost, recently scripted monster movie Cloverfield. At this time, however, there are no Cabin plot details. "...I'm not allowed to discuss," MGM chairwoman Mary Parent told The Hollywood Reporter. "It's an intense visceral thrill ride and I'll leave it at that. It was everything you would have hoped with the two of them."
