Jackie Chan to play the martial arts mentor
Jackie Chan is in final talks to join the remake of The Karate Kid for Columbia Pictures. The actor would play the eccentric mentor of a bullied young boy (played here by Will Smith's son, Jaden). Penned by Chris Murphy and to be helmed by Harald Zwart (The Pink Panther 2), the project is expected to begin shooting this summer in Beijing.
