Lions Gate and AMC team up for digital
Lions Gate has partnered with AMC Theaters to release the upcoming film The Final Cut digitally. AMC will show the film using its proprietary Digital Theater Distribution System. The way this works is that Lions Gate sends the digital file of the movie to the various AMC locations via satellite. It will debut at 115 different locations beginning on October 15th in 27 varying markets. This is the second feature film to be presented using this technology. The first was Evergreen, which opened in September.
