Chasing Papi is a comedy that features a number of popular Spanish artists and filmmakers. The story is based on three women who discover that they are all dating the same man. The girls come from very different backgrounds - one is a preppy Chicago attorney, another is a cocktail waitress in Miami, and the third is a spoiled and sheltered New Yorker - and together they decide to teach the lothario a lesson, but instead find themselves on a wild adventure. Among their exploits are a beauty pageant, a dance festival and some scary encounters with a couple of shady characters.

This film serves a heavily under-appreciated demographic that has had very few feature films specifically targeted for them. Empire recently surprised some box office forecasters with a stronger-than-expected performance; however, that film was actually somewhat limited in its appeal. Chasing Papi is much more similar in tone to the popular Y Tu Mama Tambien, which had a very solid performance for a barely marketed foreign-language entry. With three very popular and attractive leads and a broader appeal to both Spanish and English-speaking audiences, Chasing Papi has all the right ingredients to be another box office stunner.
