It's a shameless Four Weddings and a Funeral ripoff but a decent one. |
Just because you weren't asking for another romantic comedy from Ashton Kutcher doesn't mean you aren't going to get one. That's right, the Tiger Beat dream is abandoning Punk'd and That '70s Show long enough to enhance his rom-com track record started with the insta-classics Just Married and My Boss's Daughter. If you don't remember either of those films, congratulations! The hypno-therapy is working.
For those of you who are above the age of 18 and thereby immune to the training bra appeal of Kutcher, don't fret. The news gets better. Amanda Peet, last seen firing her agent after The Whole Ten Yards was released, has been signed up to play the female lead. The Jack & Jill vixen has been teetering on the brink of stardom for a while now, so getting anchor parts will at least keep her name fresh on the lips of casting coach owners even if this project does follow the normal That '70s Show stars path on the road to box office disappointment. Just Married is sadly the biggest hit the group has managed thus far. And before you folks get email-happy, Ocean's 11 was a Topher Grace cameo, while Traffic was an ensemble piece.
A Lot Like Love tells the story of a couple of mutually attracted 20-somethings who straggle on that awkward line between friendship and dating. When fate thrusts them back into one another's arms once more, they are faced with the realization that it's time to make a choice. While this does in fact sound like every other romantic comedy plot seen on television or in the movies, there is a key difference here. This one stars the goddess Amanda Peet. (David Mumpower/BOP)
