Director Justin Lin brings you Better Luck Tomorrow, a story of ambition and ability gone terribly awry among a group of high school students. Nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at the 2002 Sundance Film Festival, Better Luck tomorrow promises to be fairly unique among teen films. First, and much will be made of this point, the cast is almost exclusively Asian-American. But beyond the racial identity of the characters, the takes an earnest look into the lives of the students. We have become accustomed to films revolving around teenagers to be limited to the She's All That ilk. Better Luck Tomorrow presents genuine characters and guides them through an understandable yet perplexing set of situations.
