Tim Allen is in Galaxy Quest mode, but the childish nature of the project proves to be its undoing. Also, I felt terrible for Courteney Cox. |
Based on Jason Lethcoe's comic book for young adults, Zoom's Academy centers around a teenage girl named Summer Jones. She's kind of geeky and unpopular in her high school, and naturally she's going through all of the trials and tribulations that accompany adolescence.
One day, Summer's mysterious father whisks her away to Zoom's Academy, a school for superheroes. At this school, students take rocket ships instead of buses. They fight super villains in fake cities comprised of spongy skyscrapers and cars made for balloons. Zoom's even tells its students who their nemeses are - and as it happens, these evil counterparts attend the Graves School of Super Villainy. And for Summer, the school is a great place to discover her own blossoming talents. (Kim Hollis/BOP)
