The plot is pretty flimsy and stupid, but it does have some nice eye candy. |
This comedy/adventure is set in Mexico of 1888. In this rough-and-tumble environment dwell two women who are practically polar opposites. Sara is a European-educated sophisticate, while Maria is a tough peasant. At first, the ladies hate each other - their social class difference dictates that they must - but soon, they’re finding themselves joining forces as bank robbers.
For anyone who drooled all over themselves during the joint Academy Awards appearance of Salma Hayek and Penelope Cruz, this movie will be an absolute dream of the type that probably isn't appropriate to name here. Hayek will portray Sara, with Cruz working alongside her as Maria. Steve Zahn, who also worked with Cruz in Sahara, will play a New York City cop who comes down to Mexico to try to sort out their crimes. We can only assume that zaniness will ensue. (Kim Hollis/BOP)
