Emily Blunt is fantastic and I look forward to seeing her in the future. |
Mona (Natalie Press) lives with her brother, Phil (Paddy Considine), a man who was a former pub owner before he discovered God and poured all the booze straight down the drain. She meets another young lady named Tamsin (Emily Blunt) on the moors above their quiet Yorkshire village, and the two girls set off on a deep if unlikely friendship.
The two girls are strikingly different. Mona is content to work with her new, dirt-cheap moped that is missing an engine. Tamsin, on the other hand, is a spoiled rich girl who is looking to live a life of complete and utter self-indulgence. Where Tamsin has a wild imagination and a mind full of tragedy, Mona is tough, clever and witty.
Although the two girls are looking to escape what they see as their dull, boring lives, Phil is thinking of nothing but "saving" them and anyone else who might be uncoverted. Mona wants her brother back the way he used to be - dangerous and bold, while Tamsin wants to see how far they can go before they break him. (Kim Hollis/BOP)
