After You, aka Apres Vous in France, is a farce that centers on the unlikely bond that forms between a man who is indomitable in his efforts to commit suicide and the man who ultimately saves him.
In this romantic comedy of errors, Louis is a man who is so devastated by a recent break-up that he becomes determined to kill himself. Obsessed with Blanche, his "big love", he is heartbroken over losing her to the point that he is barely able to care for himself. Fortunately, he encounters the doormat-ish Antoine, a maitre d' who decides that he will do what he can to help his fellow man.
Not only does Antoine take Louis into his home and help him to obtain a job, but he also makes every effort to reunite his friend with Blanche. The results entangle both men in a deeper friendship and a complex situation. (Kim Hollis/BOP)
