I refuse to apologize yet again for liking Kevin Costner. He continues to choose scripts I enjoy. |
Andrew Davis has never quite been able to reclaim the heights he had as director of the Academy Award nominated The Fugitive. The Guardian sees him back working on a movie about one of the lower profile U.S. Governmental agencies. This time, it's the Coast Guard.
It's your standard Top Gun/Officer and a Gentleman story, with a cocky but directionless youth heading to the nearest authority figure or something resembling thereof for a purpose. In the role of Tom Cruise/Richard Gere we haveā¦ Ashton Kutcher? It's about time the guy grew up, I suppose. The tough head of training who's just doing this to push you because he knows you can be the best and you need to be prepared cause it'll cost people's lives otherwise is Kevin Costner, who somehow still gets phone calls to be in roles that don't feature him as a baseball player.
Other notable roles go to professional hardass Neal McDonough and Sela Ward. (Reagen Sulewski/BOP)
