A clever plot is bolstered by Ellen Page's arresting performance, especially how she delivers the great dialogue. |
Hayley is a 14-year-old girl who is smart and enjoys chatting with people on the Internet. In fact, when she meets a guy named Jeff in a chat room, she agrees to hook up with him at a coffee shop. Her expectations are totally fulfilled - he's attractive, and makes a great living as a high-end fashion photographer. He is, however, 18 years older than Hayley, which means that she certainly shouldn't be suggesting that they go back to his home so that they can spend some time alone.
Once they arrive, Hayley discovers that Jeff has some vodka and she sets about making some screwdrivers. After they've imbibed a bit, she suggests that perhaps he'd like to shoot her photo, and starts removing various items of clothing. Jeff is having a good time, but suddenly, his vision fades and he passes out.
When he wakes up, Jeff is tied down, and Hayley is searching through his home. It seems she's spiked his drink with the intention of proving that she's not the first teenage girl he's tried to pick up. Hayley believes that Jeff knows what happened to Donna Mauer, a girl who disappeared from the coffee shop where Jeff likes to hang out. If he won't confess, Hayley will takeā¦drastic measures.
