How is this *not* a Uwe Boll production? If you want better acting, go see a high school play. |
Based on a graphic novel by Aron Coleite and Tone Rodriguez, this movie will be directed by Renny Harlin from a screenplay by J.S. Cardone. The cast is comprised primarily of unknowns, though some people will certainly recognize Steven Strait, aka Warren Peace from Sky High.
The story centers on a group of four families, each of which is lead by a patriarch who has major eldritch, or uncannily supernatural, powers. These overwhelming powers have been passed down from father to son over a number of generations. We meet the four main players, sons who are about to receive their powers, at the beginning of the movie. They are named Caleb, Pogue, Reid and Miller, and they spend a summer learning about The Covenant and experimenting with how to use their powers.
It's not all fun and games for long, though. As they're playing with their newly discovered abilities, they somehow unwittingly release a massive evil out into the world. Four years after this happens, the young men are charged with stopping this menace from going further. Trouble is, they suspect one of their own as a traitor. Will jealousy tear them apart? (Kim Hollis/BOP)
