This film is a re-telling of one of the major events during the turbulent ‘60s in America, the assassination of Senator Robert F. Kennedy in 1968. Senator Kennedy was about to be nominated as his party’s choice for President of the United States, but his life was cut short by an assassin’s bullet. But instead of taking a look at how this tragedy affected his family, this movie looks at how the lives of the guests and workers at the Ambassador Hotel were changed forever. Who knows how history would have been changed if the Senator had lived?
As with most films that are about a historical event, Bobby has a big name cast. In fact, our listing for this film is pretty unique. There are so many big names in this film that some of the people you see on the “Supporting Cast” list have probably never appeared there before. Some of the bigger name stars include Sir Anthony Hopkins, Demi Moore, Elijah Wood, William H. Macy, Laurence Fishburne, and Martin Sheen. Another cast member is also the director and writer of the movie – Emilio Estevez. This is one of Estevez’s few times that he’s been behind the camera. I think that with this huge cast, he should have no problem making this film a success, even with its limited release status. (Marty Doskins/BOP)
