Accidentally doubles as a quickie See No Evil sequel...and that's not a good thing. |
You know what makes Christmas fun? A slasher movie! That's right, folks. Just in time for the holiday celebration, MGM will release a remake of a movie that has tidings of comfort and joy written all over it. Black Christmas, a lesser-known but still appreciated horror classic, is getting the modern day treatment by Final Destination creators James Wong and Glen Morgan.
The original film did feature some recognizable names, including Margot Kidder, Olivia Hussey, John Saxon and Andrea Martin, who also shows up in the remake. The story centers around a group of girls at a sorority house who receive a series of creepy phone calls from a stranger. They quickly yearn for the halcyon days of heavy breathing, though, when the guy shows up to murder them.
Along with Martin, there are several up-and-comers starring in the new film. Michelle Trachtenberg, best known for her portrayal of Dawn on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, is onboard, along with Katie Cassidy (When a Stranger Calls), Lacey Chabert (all grown up from Party of Five), and Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Sky High, Final Destination 3). Clark Gregg (aka Calvin Trager from Sports Night) also makes an appearance. (Kim Hollis/BOP)
