Remember Rachael Leigh Cook? At one point, it was looking like she had a chance to be the Next Big Thing. Lately, though, she's content to take roles in smaller films and made-for-TV movies. Will My First Wedding be the film that helps her break out of the doldrums?
Probably not. The film is receiving only a limited release from Indican Pictures, which should solidify the actress's standing as a performer more in the realm of indie film than in major motion pictures. Not that there's anything wrong with that, of course. She's carved out a niche, and a consistent one at that.
My First Wedding is a madcap romantic comedy that examines the lengths a person will go to when they're really in love, and all the surrounding mishaps that can occur as a result. Director Laurent Firode has had experience with this sort of project as he directed Audrey Tautou in Happenstance. (Kim Hollis/BOP)
