Magnolia Pictures continues its tradition of releasing unique properties to both cinema and DVD with this acquisition.
The film centers on Leni as she goes to her home to introduce her fiancé, Rafi, to her Jewish family for the very first time. This family is comprised of Leni's mother Gloria, her wanton sister Tania, her niece (and Tania's daughter) Paula, her blind grandfather Dudu and her recently converted to Orthodoxy brother David. Everything goes along just swimmingly, but then the couple reveals that Rafi is Palestinian.
Leni's mother Gloria becomes undone by this news, and fiancé Rafi tries to get to know her a little better and show he's a nice guy by helping her in the kitchen. Trouble is, he accidentally drops the soup he was supposed to defrost out the seventh floor window and hits a pedestrian on the street. When Rafi goes downstairs to check on the victim and pick up the soup, he realizes the man is dead. Making matters worse, the man bears a striking resemblance to Leni's father, who Rafi sees in a family portrait. (Kim Hollis/BOP)
