Standing Still
Release Date:
April 21, 2006
Limited release
Elise (Amy Adams) and Michael (Adam Garcia) are what everyone considers to be the perfect couple. You know the type - that happy-go-lucky pair that seems to have been dating each other forever. Their idyllic life includes a beautiful house, impending nuptials, and a pack of close friends who are coming into Los Angeles to celebrate the happy occasion with them. As the friends begin to arrive at the house, however, happy reunions soon turn awkward as painful and bittersweet memories begin to emerge.
The cast of friends includes some of the more talented young actors emerging from Hollywood today. Aaron Stanford plays Rich, the best man, while Melissa Sagemiller is maid of honor Samantha. Rich and Samantha are a couple themselves, and are also pondering the possibility of marriage. Mena Suvari portrays the neurotic actress Lana, a young woman with a bit of a checkered history. Trouble is, that history comes back to bite her as all the young men she ever slept with begin to show up for the party. This group features Johnny Abrahams, Ethan Embry and James Van Der Beek. Rounding out the cast are Colin Hanks and Marne Patterson. (Kim Hollis/BOP)
