Distracting camera cuts degrade an already mediocre action flick. |
What do you get when you put Jason Statham and Jet Li together? A movie called The One, that's what. And while that film is less than perfect, it does a fine job of showcasing both actors athletic talents and abilities in the realm of martial arts.
Someone apparently thought that Statham and Li looked pretty good together, because they're being re-teamed in a project known as War. Statham stars as an FBI agent named Jack Crawford. When Crawford's partner and family are murdered by an assassin known as Rogue (Li), the FBI agent vows revenge. As Crawford's world comes undone, Rogue has set off a battle between different factions of the Asian mob. When Crawford and Rogue finally meet face-to-face, they'll learn much about the mysteries of their pasts.
Look for War to slot nicely into that September time slot that has served Statham's Transporter films so well in the past. While Statham's star has appeared to be declining recently, pairing him with Li for a second time might just be the spark needed. (Kim Hollis/BOP)
