Just in time to capitalize on whatever level of interest there is in the World Cup in the US, Miramax releases a documentary on the New York Cosmos of the now defunct North American Soccer League. During the summer of 1977 with the perhaps the greatest soccer player ever, Pele, on their roster the Cosmos became the first great American soccer team and helped spur the rise in popularity of soccer in the United States. Narrated by Matt Dillon, a mix of never before seen footage and interviews tell the story of the introduction of big time soccer and big time soccer personalities to the US. (Dan Krovich/BOP)
