Kickin' It Old Skool
Release Date:
April 27, 2007
Break out the parachute pants, the Aqua Net and the Thriller CD (compact discs for those of you who don’t remember life before iTunes). Jamie Kennedy is bringing back the '80s. Justin Schumacher (Jamie Kennedy) is a teen in 1986 who loves break dancing. Involved in a freak break dancing accident, however, he goes into a coma for 20 years. Upon waking up he must learn to deal with the new world while reconstituting his dance group, The Funky Fresh Boys, in order to win back his girl.
Miguel A. Nunez Jr., himself a staple of '80s TV and Movies, (Tour of Duty, Amen, Jumpin’ Jack Flash and Action Jackson) plays his best friend, while Michael Rosenbaum (Smallville's Lex Luthor) plays Kip, Justin’s rival. A quick review of the cast at IMDb also suggests that there will be some surprise '80s cameos involved.
If this were anyone else but Jamie Kennedy we might be highly suspicious of this project, but given the success and hilarity of Malibu’s Most Wanted, we’ll go ahead and proclaim this movie radical. (D. James Ruccio/BOP)
