You can barely turn around without having to worry about the Apocalypse these days. Sure, people are looking forward to the second coming of Christ. But the reality is that only a few lucky souls are going to be lucky enough to be included in the rapture. The rest of the world is going to be forced to contend with the trials and tribulations of the end of days. And none of that sounds too fun, believe you me.
Apparently, Dennis Quaid is all about the Apocalypse, though. He's starring in not one, but two movies that have the end time as their subject matter! In 2010, he'll be featured in Legion, a movie where a group of strangers become stranded in a cafe during the Apocalypse (and learn that a girl among them is pregnant with the Messiah).
But before Legion will come The Horsemen, which will have Quaid starring as a detective who has become emotionally detatched from his two young sons in the aftermath of his wife's death. He is involved in the investigation of some extremely violent murders, and discovers a link between himself and the suspects that seems to have something to do with the Bible's prophecies about the Apocalypse's Four Horsemen - War, Famine, Pestilence and Death.
Sounds like a blast, right? And also offers shades of Se7en, I suppose. Either way, we'll be able to see how Quaid fares against the Apocalypse. Because in both of his movies, he does appear to have been sadly Left Behind. (Kim Hollis/BOP)
