You know, anytime you have a movie with a screenplay co-written by a guy named "Worm", it has to be a winner. Right? RIGHT?
Transylmania is yet another one of those generic college flicks featuring students getting into all kinds of trouble. This time, the central characters are spending a semester in Transylvania at Razvan University. You can imagine where it goes from here. Or maybe you can't.
It seems that the professors all wear black leather, and the classes focus on things like crucifix-wielding. Also, there's a bunch of topless vampires hanging around who apparently want to take over campus. Apparently, Castle Razvan once belonged to them, and they want it back.
The movie is billed as a combination of horror movie spoof, action adventure and raucous college comedy. That sounds like a winning combination. Okay, maybe it doesn't really seem like a movie that should be seen anywhere but on the shelves of Blockbuster or the $1.99 bargain bin, but here it is nonetheless. The only positive is that it's not likely to get enough of a marketing push to be seen by anyone. (Kim Hollis/BOP)
