So it's not The Godfather Part 2, but it's rare that a movie makes you feel like you're having as much fun as the cast. |

A star vehicle in every sense of the phrase, it's much more interested in entertaining its cast than making sense as a movie. |

A shadow of the original, but still good fun. |
"Run and hide, asshole. Run and hide. If you should be picked up next week buying a hundred thousand dollar sports car in Newport Beach, I am going to be supremely disappointed. Because I want my people to find you, and when they do, rest assured we're not going to hand you over to the police. So, my advice to you again is this. Run and hide."
Terry Benedict is not a man to be trifled with, so when these words ominously ring out from his mouth, people should believe him. When last we saw the debonaire billionaire casino magnate, he was facing an unusual experience for a man of his impressive intellect and skill. He had been beaten and beaten badly. By a recent prison inmate no less.
Clearly, this indignity will not stand. The humiliation of a $163,156,759 robbery occurring right under his nose has become an obsession for a man once described by former rival casino owner Reuben Tishkoff in no uncertain terms as "a man who will kill you then he'll go to work on you." Benedict is described by those who have been foolish enough to cross him as a man without mercy or compassion, no matter how minute the transgression might have been.
Now imagine the consequences if a person were to piss Terry Benedict off. As Tishkoff once famously said to would-be master thieves Daniel Ocean and Rusty Ryan, "At the end of it, he better not know you're involved". Ocean and Ryan ignored this pearl of wisdom, and pulled the epic heist anyway.
And Terry Benedict knows they were involved.
That is where we left the story of Danny Ocean's 11 master criminals, but for men such as these, resting on one's laurels is no way to live. Obviously, their notoriety in North America prevents them from going back on the con there. Once you are suspected of pulling off one of the most successful robberies in history, people have a tendency to distrust you.
But if the gang were to head overseas for a while, they just might be able to find new worlds to conquer and legends to write. Europe, for example...
That's right, the band is back together again and once more, they have lofty ambitions. While some might consider it impossible for the group to surpass their recent accomplishment of robbing three casinos in one night, Rusty and Danny disagree.
They have their sights set on robbing a lucrative target in Berlin.
And one in London.
And one in Rome.
All at once.
The boys don't lack for ambition. You have to give them that.
Will they be able to outwit the best security in three different European countries? Maybe...but I think we'd all like their chances better if they weren't being doggedly pursued every step of the way by one Terry Benedict. (David Mumpower/BOP)
February 10, 2004 Variety is reporting that Catherine Zeta-Jones has been added to the cast. She will be portraying the love interest of Brad Pitt's Rusty. This is rather fitting as one of the last lines from the first film is that they need to get Rusty a girl. (David Mumpower/BOP)
